Site Visits & Consultations
All projects require an in-person consultation at the project location. If you’re unable to attend, a member of Woodlands Carpentry will conduct a site visit to assess the project.

  • Yes, but this is not a free service. Legal, permit, and inspection fees are always on your invoice.

  • Our payment schedule will depend on the amount of time it takes to complete a project and the size of the project. Typically if the project is small and less than two weeks, we require a down deposit. However, if the project is large and will take some time, we set up a pay schedule with the client.

  • If your project requires a specific skill or trade, we will hire a sub-contractor. Some Services we do not offer are Electrical work, advanced plumbing, welding, and pipe drilling. However, we have sub-trades for such projects and will always let you know if your project requires a subcontractor.

  • When you refer a new client who completes a project, you receive a $50 McMunn & Yates gift card as a thank-you! Just ensure your referral mentions your name when they contact us.

  • Simply share our contact information or website with friends or family. When they book a project, make sure they mention your name. We’ll reach out once the project is complete.

  • We recommend booking at least a few months in advance, especially for summer and fall projects. Our schedule fills up quickly, and planning ahead ensures you get a spot that works best for you.

  • Yes! We have experience working on both mainland and island properties in Kenora, Lake of the Woods and surrounding lakes.

  • Construction often uncovers surprises, such as hidden rot, foundation issues, or outdated wiring. If we run into anything unexpected, we’ll explain the situation, provide options, and adjust the project plan accordingly.

  • No, If you can’t be there, we’ll keep you updated with progress photos and calls.

  • • Clear the work area of furniture, décor, or personal items.

    • Confirm site access (if you won’t be home).
